HOW GOVERNOR OKPEBHOLO IS CONSTRUCTING A MODERN EDO -- By Dr. Patrick Akhere Ebojele PhD

Image
Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo is a very confident man. He speaks about the future of Edo State with a level of confidence that confounds his critics. It is not the confidence built around political theatre. Rather, it comes from visible projects and active construction sites, he has activated;  and the belief that Edo state is entering a new phase of development under his leadership driven largely by infrastructure renewal.  And it dates back November 12, 2024, when he took office; he had repeatedly promised that Edo would rise again. During his inauguration, Governor Okpebholo assured residents that his administration would focus on rebuilding roads, improving infrastructure, strengthening security, upgrading healthcare, supporting agriculture, and restoring confidence in governance. Nearly two years later, many of those promises are now becoming visible realities across different parts of the state. Infrastructure is the centrepiece of the administratio...

The fire we lit: Lessons from the escalating war of words in Edo-South APC -- By Benin Youth Renaissance

Image
There is a Benin proverb that says, "When a man throws a stone into the market, he cannot determine whose head it will eventually hit.” Politics, especially during primaries, is naturally emotional and competitive, but history has repeatedly shown that when people deliberately lower the tone of public discourse, they rarely retain control over how ugly things eventually become. I just watched the latest video by Egogo, Nominddem, and Apostle Kassy, where they went after Osagie Ize-Iyamu with very harsh and deeply personal attacks. Quite frankly, some of the comments and allegations were excessive and unnecessary, especially the extension of the attacks toward his wife, the CMD of UBTH. However, while those attacks are condemnable, they also sadly reflect the consequence of a political atmosphere that has been allowed to deteriorate unchecked for weeks. For some time now, supporters of Pastor Ize-Iyamu, driven largely by the belief that the governor was allegedly giving preferent...

PRESIDENT OF FONWIP CELEBRATE AND PRAY FOR ALL MOTHER'S ACROSS THE GLOBE

Image
The President of Forum of Nigeria Women in Politics, FONWIP, Hon Amb Florence Gbinigie JP join the  rest of the world leaders to celebrate  all Mothers  in the name of the Lord, and wish them a very special Happy Mother’s Day . According to her, "Motherhood is one of God’s greatest designs.  "From Genesis, we see that the woman was formed to nurture, to build, and to sustain life.  "A mother is the first teacher, the first intercessor, and often the first to believe when everyone else doubts. In homes, churches, and in our nation, it is the quiet, daily sacrifice of mothers that holds society together. "As someone who has walked the path of service in both ministry and academia, I have seen firsthand that behind every strong leader, every disciplined student, every healed home, there is often a mother who prayed through the night, who gave up her comfort, and who spoke words of faith when the situation looked bleak. "Today, I celebrate you.  To...

EDO GOVERNOR CONDEMNS DAYLIGHT MURDER, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO STAMPING OUT CULTISM

Image
Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has condemned in the strongest terms the murder of a youth at the main gate of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) by gunmen in broad daylight on Sunday. The brazen and cold-blooded killing on a day regarded as sacred by many is an affront to human dignity, a threat to public safety, and an attack on everything this administration stands for. It is completely unacceptable. Governor Okpebholo in a statement issued by Dr. Patrick Akhere Ebojele, PhD,  Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Governor extends his heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and associates of the deceased, whose life was violently and senselessly cut short. The Edo State Police Command has commenced investigations into the incident, while security agencies are working round the clock to identify and apprehend all those responsible. Renewed Hope in Edo is no longer about promises alone. The structure has been laid, the coordinators are in place, and the responsibility is now clear.  Under the leadership of Sylvester Aigboboh, the focus must remain on grassroots engagement, disciplined communication, and meaningful delivery.  True political strength is not measured by the size of gatherings, but by the ability to connect policies with the everyday realities of the people.  The task before Renewed Hope Ambassadors is not merely to occupy positions, but to build trust, sustain engagement, and ensure that the message of hope translates into visible impact across communities in Edo State.

Governor Okpebholo’s Integrity-First Approach to Governance -- By Dr. Patrick Akhere Ebojele, PhD

Image
Edo State Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo has been consistent in framing his administration around a simple but demanding idea: that integrity is not a moral decoration in governance, but the foundation on which public service must stand. In his words, “I believe in keeping people with proven integrity. Your profession does not allow room for misconduct, and that is critical in governance.” This is a statement that goes beyond political messaging. It reflects an attempt to define how Edo State should be governed, who should manage its resources, and what standards should guide decision-making in public office. This approach recently came under renewed attention following a courtesy visit by the leadership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) to the Government House in Benin City. Led by ICAN President and Chairman of Council, Haruna N. Yahya, the delegation brought with it an assessment that placed Edo State among the most consistent performers in the ins...

OSAGIE IZE-IYAMU : A DESPERATE SENATORIAL AMBITION BUILT ON FALSE NARRATIVES -- By Osaigbovo Eweka.

Image
I have read with concern the various fabricated stories and misleading narratives circulating across social media by sponsored online propagandists claiming that Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu was instrumental to the emergence of Senator Monday Okpebholo as Senator representing Edo Central and subsequently as Governor of Edo State. As someone who was actively involved in, and a direct witness to, the political events that culminated in both victories, I consider it necessary to set the record straight and correct the deliberate distortion of facts being promoted to deceive the public. Let me state clearly and unequivocally: Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu did not support Senator Monday Okpebholo during his senatorial ambition. At the time Senator Okpebholo visited Ize-Iyamu to seek his support ahead of the Edo Central Senatorial election, Ize-Iyamu told him plainly that he was not from Edo Central Senatorial District and therefore could not assist him politically. Senator Okpebholo accepted the respo...
