Nigerians Urged to Pray for the Rescue of School children kidnapped in Ibadan
The President of the Forum of Nigerian Women in Politics (FONWIP), Hon Florence Gbinigie JP has called on Nigerians to Pray for the rescue of the children kidnapped recently in Ibadan
The call was made in a statement by the FONWIP President greeting Nigerian children on the celebration of the International Children’s Day.
She called for the urgent rescue of school children reportedly kidnapped in Ibadan.
While extending heartfelt felicitations to the Muslim faithful celebrating *Eid al-Adha she prayed for peace in the nation.
“As we mark Children’s Day, our thoughts turn to the children of Ibadan and across Nigeria who are missing their classrooms and their families.
“FONWIP prays for their safe rescue, and urges security agencies to act with urgency and compassion," she added.
According to her, no child should live in fear, adding that, “to every Nigerian child, you are the promise of our nation."
She expressed her heartfelt condolences to those that have lost their lives .
"FONWIP remains committed to policies that protect your rights, your education, and your future, " she noted
On Eid al-Adha, Gbinigie stated that, “May the spirit of sacrifice, mercy, and unity that defines this season strengthen our nation. Eid Mubarak to all Muslims celebrating across Nigeria.”
"FONWIP continues to advocate for safer schools, stronger child protection laws, and increased women’s participation in building a secure Nigeria.
"It is a non-partisan body dedicated to advancing the welfare of women and children and promoting women’s leadership in governance," the statement added
