Edo Fasting, Prayer Day --Gov.Okpebholo, Deputy, College of Bishops, Others Expected To Grace Event Saturday By Monday Oise

 

All roads lead to the National Museum Ground, kings Square, Benin City in Edo State on Saturday as the "Edo State Fasting and Prayer Day" brings together notable men of God from across the world and those in government circles, businesses, academia , Civil Society Organisations among others,  to  pray for Edo State and Nigeria.

The Annual Prayer event which has its theme: "Restoration of Lost Glory For Edo State" is expected to have His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Edo State, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, his Deputy, Rt.Hon. Dennis Idahosa, Civil Commissioners and Heads of Government Parastatals, Ministries, Departments and Agencies in attendance.

Speaking to newsmen in Benin City on the preparations for the event, the President, World Christian Fellowship, and Coordinator of the Prayer Conference , Prophet Okoduwa Atorkpa thanked Edo people for their active participation in previous  editions and urged them to come out enmasse as usual, to prayerfully join hands with the State Governor, and his Deputy,  to restore the State's lost glory in the place of prayers.

Prophet Atorkpa assured that when  the Saints of God and His Elects  passionately gather at the City Centre to  observe the fast and prayers and to uphold the State and Country  sincerely in prayers , the Lord God will look down from  Heaven to have Mercy on the Land (2Chronicles 7:14) and restore its lost glory thereby, making Edo to truly begin to Shine  again in all areas of human endeavours for the benefit of all .

‎The Man of God,  who described the Edo State Fasting and Prayer Day "as a divine  revelation and vision from God that has endured for many years," urged all Edo residents to key into it for their personal liberation and glorification, adding that better days await the State and the Country despite the current security and economic turbulence and uncertainty staring them  in their faces.

‎He asserted that, from Bible days till date, Christ has put his power of prayers into the hearts of men to save Cities, Kingdoms, Thrones and Nations from ruin, noting that the  fervert and ceaseless prayers of God's Elect have always restored men  to life, stopped plagues, quenched the violence of fire, shut the mouth of wild beasts, altered the course of nature, caused rain in the world and drought in the sea, among others.

He maintained that prayer rules the gods, and arrest the sun in its course and stays the chariot wheels and the moon, explaining that it has pleased God to protect the people and supply their needs through the fasting and prayers conference during which the Omnipotence of God  will be revealed in Edo State.

‎‎"As we gather on Saturday, we trust there will again be a mighty move of God as people of Edo State humble themselves before His throne and seek His face on behalf of the State. 

We encourage our people to beseech God to grant us wisdom to know the course we should follow and strengthen our hearts to pursue the course steadfastly ." he noted .

‎ Notable men of God expected at the Edo Fasting and Prayer-Day from  within and outside the State include the ArchBishop Dr. J. J. Ojo, Bishop J . Omede, Bishop Dr. Ottah Dike, Prophet John Osagie Odigie, Rev Prof. John Okoya, ArchBishop Dr. Fred Oifoghe Aghedo, Bishop Atoe Iyobosa amongst others

Gov Okpebholo Leads APC Delegation on Condolence Visit to Okao of Ologbo

  Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo led a high-powered delegation of government officials and party leaders on a condolence visit to the Okao of Ologbo, Chief Emmanuel Iyase, following the passing of his wife, Mrs. Mandaline Iyase.
