Loving Tribute Marks One Year Anniversary of Rita Ofure Gbinigie Passing

 


Family and friends gathered at the grave side of Rita Ofure Gbinigie to commemorate the one-year anniversary of her untimely departure

The emotional ceremony at her grave side in London was filled with heartfelt tributes, fond memories, and kind words from loved ones.

A devoted mother,  sister and friend, Ofure who lived a loving and peaceful life left an indelible mark on those who knew her.

Her passing was met with shock and grief, but her legacy of love and kindness continues to inspire because of her good works and beautiful heart.

Speakers at the ceremony which was via zoom included  relations, friends and children who spoke and shared stories of her compassion, generosity, and unwavering commitment to her loved ones and every one who crossed her path in life

"She was more than just a mother, she was my confidante and best friend," said Emeka, her son.

"As we remember her today, I pray she continues to find peace where she is right now. I love her so much and would have loved to speak to her personally.

In the same vein, her son, Ebuka, and others prayed that her gentle soul continue to rest in peace.

"Her absence has left a void, but her memory fills our hearts with joy. We know that Ofure is resting with the Lord Almighty and her light as an Angel will continue to shine through her two children.

In the words of Hon Dr. Florence Gbinigie, "My sister, Ofure Rita left a Vacuum in the heart of the family and we miss her greatly.

"It is difficult to believe you are gone because you left so many footprints on earth. Those that sent you to early grave will not know Peace and your children will continue your legacy of peace and progress.

"On behalf of the Gbinigie family we say a big THANKS to all who participated in one way or the other," she noted

The event was a celebration of her life, love, and impact with prayers led by Rev. Fr Theophilus Nyamali at the grave side, praises and worship via Zoom to God.

It was an inspiration for her loved ones to continue to live with kindness and purpose and there was a laying of wreath on the grave.
