There is so much excitement in Edo State as Governor  Monday Okpebholo led administration put smiles on the faces of Edo people with the execution of several  projects  which are improving the living standards of the people across the state.

This was revealed by some Edo Residents during a Vox Pop embarked upon by Journalists across the state yesterday.

According to Mr. George Okojie, a retired principal at Ekpoma, the  people are   witnessing a new revolution in terms of result oriented leadership in the state.

According to him, Governor Monday Okpebholo as chairman of the Council  of the Ambrose Ali University, AAU increased the subvention from N40 million to N500 million monthly.

To him, the increased subvention significantly,  demonstrates the Governor's commitment to improving education in Edo State by boosting funding for the university.

This move highlights Governor Okpebholo's understanding of the importance of education and his efforts to support tertiary institutions in the state as part of his Broader Reforms.

This funding boost was part of wider educational reforms, including teacher welfare, school infrastructure, and support for medical students and the Governor returned sanity to AAU as well as commenced the construction of three major building projects for the institution.

"These include the construction of a 1,500-seat lecture theatre, a twin 309-capacity lecture theatre, and a 600- bed hostel to address the accommodation needs of AAU students.

"These are all in fulfillment of the Governor's promise to provide critical infrastructure for AAU to ease the challenges of overcrowding in lecture halls and improve the overall learning environment for students and we are very impressed with the rate of work going on so far," he added.

In the same vein,  Alhaji Musa Muhammed, a building Contractor also Commended Governor Okpebholo led administration for the remodeling and reconstruction of  secondary schools across the state, in addition to the commencement of phase three of the Basic Schools Renovation Programme.

"The benefiting local government areas include Ovia North East, Ikpoba-Okha, Etsako West, Esan West, and Uhunmwonde, while the government  also renovated some selected dilapidated schools in Etsako East and Esan Central."

According to him, several projects under the Edo State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission ( EDSOPADEC), which include the construction of four modern markets in Orhionmwon, Ikpoba-Okha, and Ovia North East Local Government Areas, as well as the supply of 25 transformers to boost electrification in the oil producing communities  embarked upon by the Edo State government have gone a long way to improve the standard of living in the benefiting communities.

"The construction of a modern market at the popular Jattu Market in Edo North  by the administration  has expanded economic opportunities and improved the livelihoods of the people in the area.

It was also the view of Amb. Bobby Edukpe in Ekiadolor,  that  Governor Okpebholo will suppass the expectations of his critics and become the yardstick by which to judge future leaders of the state with the pace of development going on across the state in road construction, ongoing upgrading of Primary Health Centers, Renovation of Schools and the  revival of moribund water schemes.

"The reorganized and restructured Edo State Security Corps, the agricultural reforms to ensure food Sufficiency in the state and provision of electricity in the rural communities, the New Edo Transport Service, Construction of the ongoing two fly-over Bridges in Benin city and other projects are some of the giant strides executed by the government  which Edo people are  very excited about today," he noted.
