.

From the Ekpoma Palace, His Royal Highness, the Onojie of Ekpoma, Barr. (Dr.) Anthony Abumere II, on behalf of the chiefs of the palace and the good people of the entire Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State, extends heartfelt gratitude to the Governor of Edo State, His Excellency Senator Monday Okpebholo, for his commitment to the development of Ekpoma, particularly through the inclusion of critical road projects in the 2026 budget.

The Onojie acknowledges the Governor’s consistent dedication to the welfare of Ekpoma, the proud home of the founder of Ambrose Alli University and a prominent citadel of higher learning in the region. He commended the Governor for his proactive approach in addressing the recurring security challenges within the local government and his approval for the construction of five severely dilapidated roads that have caused significant distress to the community for many years.

"Other governors have made promises in the past and left them unfulfilled," noted the Onojie. "Indeed, Your Excellency, you are the Messiah the people seek, and we are grateful to have found you. May God Almighty and our great ancestors grant you more grace and wisdom to continue your exemplary service and transform Edo State into an enviable city.

The Onojie also expressed appreciation to Rt. Honorable Jonathan Ibhamawu, the member representing Esan West Local Government in the Edo State House of Assembly and the Majority Leader of the Legislative Arm, for his collaboration with the Governor to foster progress in the state. He further acknowledged the acting Executive Chairman of Esan West Local Government Area, Hon. Blessing Arbert Ebhodaghe, for his prompt responses to challenges facing the local government.

The approval granted during the State Executive Council meeting held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, for the construction of the following five roads, which have long been a source of significant challenges for residents, was met with great delight:

1. Ukpenu/Emuhi/Ujianmen/Ehor Road

2. Ekpoma/Ukhun/Idoa Road

3. Iruekpen/Sabogidda Road

4. Ukpoke/Uhiele Road

5. Anglican Church Bishop Court Road

Once again, on behalf of the good people of Ekpoma and neighboring communities, Your Excellency, we express our profound gratitude and delight.
