Ogwa, Edo State, Nigeria.- The Governing Council of Glorious Vision University, (GVU), Ogwa, Edo State, Nigeria, has confirmed the promotion of Associate Prof. Felix Oghi, to the rank of full Professor.
According to a letter of promotion in this regard, Prof. Felix Oghi's well deserved elevation took effect from October 1st, 2025, as a Professor of History, Diplomacy and Conflict Studies.
In a chat with this reporter, Prof. Felix Oghi posited thus: It is with deep gratitude and a profound sense of responsibility that I have been appointed Professor of History, Diplomacy, and Conflict Studies at Glorious Vision University. I am truly honored to join an institution that is committed to academic excellence, character formation, and service to society"

Barr. Prof. Felix Ejukonemu Oghi is a scholar trained at the University of Benin, where he distinguished himself by completing studies in both the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Law. He holds a Nigerian Certificate in Education, a Bachelor of Arts degree in History (Second Class Upper Division), a Master of Arts degree in History, and a Ph.D. in History obtained in 2014. In addition to his humanities training, he holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Law and was called to the Nigerian Bar in May 2008.
Prof. Oghi joined the services of Glorious Vision University, Ogwa, Edo State, as a Lecturer II in March 2013. He rose steadily through the academic ranks and was elevated to the rank of Professor by the University’s Governing Council in October 2025. His research interests span Political and Social History, Legal History, Diplomacy, and Conflict Studies. He is widely published in reputable local, national, and international journals and has contributed chapters to several scholarly books.
He has served the University in various leadership capacities, including a four-year tenure as Acting Head of the Department of History and Diplomatic Studies and as Dean of the College of Humanities. He has supervised several M.A. and M.Sc. theses and currently mentors three Ph.D. candidates who are nearing completion.
Prof. Oghi received intellectual nurturing from renowned historians such as the late Prof. P. A. Igbafe, Prof. F. I. A. Omu, and Prof. L. E. Otoide, and further deepened his scholarship under the mentorship of distinguished scholars including Prof. Eddy Erhagbe, Prof. O. B. Osadolor, and Prof. E. A. Ifidon, among others. His engaging teaching style and mastery of his subject areas have earned him consistent commendations from students and colleagues alike.
He is happily married to Mrs. Miriam Chinwe Oghi, and they are blessed with children. His career continues to inspire admiration and prayers for sustained good health and greater academic accomplishments.
