Given the rotation pattern and zoning arrangement in the district, the People's Democratic Party, PDP candidate from Esan Northeast Local Government Area, Prince Joe Okojie best fits, and emerges as the most suitable candidate for the position considering all the political dynamics from the Senatorial District.

Understanding the political rotation pattern in the Esan Nation, the Senate seat in Edo Central Senatorial District is rotated between the two Federal Constituencies: Esan Central, Esan West, and Igueben Federal Constituency, and Esan Northeast and Esan Southeast Federal Constituency.
