COUNCIL BOSS, CONDEMN INDECENT DRESSING By Maxwell Okechukwu in Abakaliki



Chairman of  Abakaliki local government council Area in Ebonyi State, Hon. Stephen Ebere Nwogba has  condemned acts of indecent styles of dressing in this model society.

The  Chairman  who lamented that people have deviated from their cultural ways of dressing, both youth and adult stated this while speaking with Newsmen in his office at the Local government headquarters  Nkaliki. 

He Said, "the time has come when everybody in different Leadership positions in the society and the parents should wake up from slumber to correct their children at home about this error of indecent dressing that is getting out of hand in our society.

" Both the government,  clergy, Traditional  rulers, parents, the media and the security personnel  should wake up from slumber to fight against this mess which is turning the society into something else," he noted.

The Chairman further expressed his disappointment, challenging the religious leaders, Pastors and Church members who are supposed to be promoting the standard decent ways of dressing.

According go him, they are rather copying the dressing styles  introduced by the entertainment industries popularly known as Nollywood actors who are generally  regarded as celebrities in the social world.

He added that some Pastors in their various Churches are not helping matters and not putting efforts  to correct this error, but rather they are encouraging the act by allowing members to dress the same way to their churches because they want to have a large  congregation and members

The Chairman said he has  instructed the security at the Local government headquarters gate  that any staff coming  to work without  being properly  dressed  should be turned back,

While using himself as a leader in the society, the Chairman  urged other leaders and parents to inculcate the act of cultural discipline,  both  in offices and at home  because  charity begins at home.

Gov Okpebholo Leads APC Delegation on Condolence Visit to Okao of Ologbo
