WIDOWS OF FALLEN MILITARY HERO IN EBONYI, RECEIVE WELFARE PACKAGE By Maxwell Okechukwu in Abakaliki.

Members of  the  Nigeria legion, Ebonyi State Command  have remembered widows of  fallen heroes with welfare package, food items and  undisclosed cash  amount to enable them take  care of their family left behind.

 The State Deputy Corps Commander,  Chibueze Joshua Elem, told newsmen that, "From time to time we visit them. Few days ago we  paid homage to some of our retired soldiers in their various homes making  people around  them know that they have been  in the military. 

The Commander also used the opportunity to thank the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and other council members of the Nigeria legion, Ebonyi for  identifying with the  fallen heroes families and retired soldiers

He  also thanked the President of the  Federal Republic of Nigeria for  looking into their matter through the National Assembly where the bill on how to take care of Nigeria heroes have passed second reading 

The Chairman of the Nigeria Legion, Ebonyi State Council, HRH Rtd. Captain Fidelis Ogodo,  assured the widows that their welfare remains a priority, adding that the  veterans who are yet to receive their own financial support should  execise patience that very soon the will start getting alert.

“Our colleagues may be asking why we have not reached them yet, but we are starting with the widows because they are fewer. The main veterans are many, and we don’t want any mix-up to avoid confusion


Speaking On behalf of other beneficiaries, Mrs. Memuna Isa thank God for the opportunity and  privilege giving to them  and for the  governor  remembering them  through the chairman, adding, "I really appreciate, may the Almighty God continue to bless him and put melody in his heart."

Others are Mrs. Tolu Ikwere from Kogi state, Mrs.Luke Margret, wife of Late Major Luke Agha of Ivo LGA of Ebonyi state. Mrs. Luke Margaret said, "we are all delighted for the provision  given to us. 

On behalf of the widows, she prayed for  the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, who has been carrying  the widows under the legion along.
