Governor Okpebholo's 100 Days Milestone: Executive Chairman Briggs Champions School Renovations in Edo State

In line with  Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo's initiative to deliver quality education, extensive renovations and reconstruction of school buildings are underway across Edo State. These efforts aim to provide safe, modern learning environments that empower every child to thrive.

Executive Chairman Barr. Mrs. Onomen Briggs of the Edo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) led an inspection in the Edo Central Senatorial District, accompanied by Board Members, Chief Christopher Abuya and Engr. Martin Amune.

This visit was part of a broader review to ensure that the governor’s vision is fully realized. Recent reports indicate that a similar tour in the Edo South Senatorial District took place earlier in the week, highlighting the state’s commitment to comprehensive oversight.

During the inspection, the team evaluated progress at several schools. At Ebhoakhuala Primary School in Ebhoakhuala (Ekpoma), the site engineer, Mr. Samson Walter, and Headmistress, Mrs. Umoera Beatrice, showcased a newly constructed block comprising six classrooms, an office, and a toilet facility.

At Eko-Omigie Primary School in Urohi (Esan West), the Executive Chairman inspected a completed block of four classrooms and an office awaiting furnishings. Additionally, renovations at Atani Primary School and Egbele Primary School in Uromi were reviewed.

At the conclusion of the Edo Central tour, Executive Chairman Briggs expressed her satisfaction with the quality of work, noting that the improvements were markedly superior to those observed during the Edo South visit earlier in the week.

She emphasized that such inspections are essential to ensuring the timely delivery of the governor’s ambitious plan to renovate and reconstruct over a hundred schools during his first hundred days in office, and confirmed that commissioning of the completed buildings would commence in the coming weeks—a significant milestone in Edo State's commitment to providing quality education.
